Baltic recruitment are currently Recruiting for a Quality inspector for a well-established company based in Bishop Auckland. As an Inspector, you will be part of the quality team and you will work closely with stores, purchasing and suppliers to ensure that defined standards are achieved, maintained and improved.

Your main responsibilities will be the quality of parts and material delivered into the company from suppliers, calibration of measuring equipment and assisting with inspection as well as other tasks for quality throughout manufacturing.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Performing inspection and test of components and materials at Goods-In
- Maintaining inspection plans and generating new plans
- Documenting inspection results by completing reports
- Raising non-conformance reports efficiently, segregating non-conforming product
- Communicating with suppliers to resolve non-conformances and request corrective actions
- Playing a key role in the transfer of inspection records and procedures onto a quality database
- Performing the inspection of in-house manufactured parts and finished products
- Ensuring calibration of measuring equipment is carried out and all equipment is maintained
- Operating and programming the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Interpreting engineering drawings
- Ensuring quality systems are being adhered to and are operating effectively
- Promoting high standards of quality throughout the business
- Maintaining 5S standards of order and cleanliness within good receipt and inspection area
- Assisting with training and development of suppliers when appropriate
- Ensuring that you work in a safe manner and comply with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policy

Shifts
- Mon - Thurs 7am-4pm, Fri 7am-11:45am

Pay rate
- £14.45

To apply, you must have experience of working in an engineering/manufacturing environment in an inspection or quality role. Desirably you will also have an apprenticeship certificate in a relevant engineering discipline or hold other equivalent qualifications in inspection/quality.

We also ask that you have experience using a large variety of measurement equipment including CMM with the ability to interpret engineering drawings. Experience and knowledge of ISO9001 requirements and statistical quality control techniques would be advantageous.

We’re looking for someone who has excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as self-motivator who possesses a positive decisive attitude to problem solving A flexible approach to work with an ability to work under pressure and within time constraints are also a must

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £14.45 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Bishop Auckland: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Quality inspection: 2 years (preferred)
