As part of the Mencap Visiting Service we are looking for a volunteer to visit a lovely lady in her late 60's who has a learning disability.

She is very sociable and enjoys spending time with friends. She really enjoys listening to music - especially Roy Orbison and Cliff Richard She loves nice things - jewellery is a particular favourite.

Due to her mobility visits will take place at her home where you can chat over a cup of tea. This role is perfect for someone who is patient and understanding. Ideally you will have experience in learning disabilities.
- You will be introduced and get to know her with the support of her carer.She will really enjoy spending time with a friendly volunteer like you By visiting every other month - you will make a huge difference.

**When & where do I need to be available?**
- Visits will be every 2 months and can be during the week or weekends.
- Visits will last around 1 - 1.5 hours or longer depending on what you plan to do.

**As a Mencap Visiting Volunteer you will b**e**:

- Aged 18 or over
- Friendly, patient and reliable

The Mencap visiting service (MVS) was launched in **1963** as a befriending service to adults with a learning disability after their parents pass away.

We currently support over 300 people of all ages across the England and Wales.

MVS volunteers reduce social isolation, expand networks and build friendships.
