Timsons Engineering Ltd. Foundry has been providing the engineering industry with a diverse range of castings for over 80 years. Modern state of the art electric melting supply's molten metal in weights from 1kg to 2.5 tonnes in all grades of Cast Iron and up to 600kg in Ductile and Austempered Ductile Iron. We produce simple castings right through to complex core assemblies using a Furan airset sand system that benefits from the latest developments in chemical technology.
We have a requirement for additional foundry operatives to join our team. Experience and knowledge of working with Airset sands, GI and SG Iron is desirable.
Duties will include the following:
- To produce moulds and cores using boxed and boxless moulding techniques
- To operate sand mixing machinery and understand principles of chemical technology
- To form part of the casting team and assist with the movement of molten metal and the casting of moulds and understand the basic principles of metallurgy
- To be able to operate all relevant measuring equipment
- To be able to understand engineering drawings relevant to the process
Full training will be considered for the successful applicant.
Working a 37.5 hour week, plus overtime when available. Benefits include a competitive salary, 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (taken at Christmas), sick pay scheme, contributory pension scheme and free life assurance.
Salary - 22,000 - 28,000 per year, dependent on experience.
