An exciting opportunity has arisen following a period of large-scale growth to bolster our supply chain and demand planning team.
This is a newly created distinct role and you will work in close collaboration with our supply chain, logistics, sales and finance functions to control and manage all stock movements for our entire product range.
We are looking for a driven, highly analytical and collaborative person who will play a critical role in ensuring efficient operational performance and making business optimising decisions.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Own and manage the stock forecasting process for all products, ensuring that underlying forecasts and assumptions are continually up to date and accurate
- Identifying trends in stock movements and challenging forecasts where applicable
- Continually evolve the stock forecasting process by adapting and using judgement to best reflect the parameters applicable to each customer and product
- Communicating with retail customers to ensure availability of stock in time for agreed deadlines
- Identifying potential problems and challenges and taking action to mitigate risks and ensure the best possible outcome
- 'What if’ scenario reviews and sensitivity analysis
- Assessing inventory levels, paying close attention to core items, best sellers, new ranges and promotional periods with higher demand
- Drive the ordering process for all stock items, factoring in supplier lead times and all relevant supply chain factors
- Communicating with the supply chain team to ensure stock intake is on track and reflected accurately within the forecast
- Supporting the logistics team during peak trading periods, where high stock turnover and high volumes of orders require closer control and management
- Building up working knowledge to provide insight across all areas of stock planning, for example when slower moving stock is identified or new product ranges are launched
**Key skills**:
- Highly proficient in utilising Excel (including v-lookups/pivot tables etc)
- Competent in analysing large volumes of data
- Analytically minded with high attention to detail
- Strong work ethic with an ability to independently own and drive projects
- Motivated to learn and keen to ask insightful questions
- Experience in using Sage accounting software would be an advantage but is not essential
In the future, the Stock Analyst & Demand Planner will play a key role in transitioning from an Excel-based modelling approach to a demand planning software platform. Prior experience of demand planning software would therefore be advantageous.
To be successful in this Stock Analyst & Demand Planner role, you will have strong analytical experience in demand planning, sales planning, supply chain or other relevant function in a progressive, dynamic business environment.
