**Contract: Full Time, Fixed Term, 37 hours per week**

We have an exciting opportunity for anNeighbourhood Inspectorto join our Neighbourhood Services team. In this role, you will assist with the delivery of services provided by the Neighbourhood Services Team.

**Main job responsibilities**:

- Contribute effectively to the management of an inspections regime for land that falls under the ownership of whg.
- Develop and undertake a programme of safety inspections on non-highway sites within whg ownership to provide whg with legal defence on litigation cases.
- Undertake inspections in accordance with the Safety Inspection Manual and to identify, assess, and mark up on site any defects that meet or exceed the intervention thresholds for actionable repair.
- Assess the risk for individual defects exercising personal judgment and discretion to identify the appropriate defect risk category in accordance with the Safety Inspection policy.
- Manage workload and priorities in a manner that ensures that the non highway sites within whg ownership are inspected at the required frequency.

**We're looking for someone who has**:

- A full UK driving licence
- Must have access to a car.
- Recent and relevant experience of undertaking a similar role.
- Experience of using equipment relating to safety inspections.
- An awareness of the Highway Maintenance Code of Practices and Public Open Space (POS) inspection best practice.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally with customers, local groups and partner agencies.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing with internal and external colleague.
