**Job summary**:
The Mission Ready Training Centre (MRTC) is part of the Army Collective Training Group and is responsible for assuring the directed training of both individual soldiers and formed units of soldiers deploying within the UK and worldwide. After being closed for several years, Bassingbourn Barracks is undergoing a complete modernisation to accommodate MRTC and a number of smaller lodger units. The MRTC is a mix of Army personnel (both Regular and Reserve) and Civil Servants

Civilian clerks are fully integrated within the MRTC providing essential administrative support within their specific team.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
We currently have five vacancies in the Mission Ready Training Centre (MRTC) Civilian clerical team as follows:

- Mobilisation & HR Joint Personnel Administration (JPA) Support Officer (two vacancies): Provide HR and JPA administrative support to Reservist Personnel on Mobilisation and De-mobilisation and to facilitate the mount and dismount procedures for Army personnel entering a Full Time Reserve Service (FTRS) commitment. These are key roles within a small team of 7 that facilitate the hiring of reserve personnel for a specific period of time and subsequently releasing them from service on completion of task.
- Operations JPA Support Officers (two vacancies): The Operations JPA Support Officers will primarily provide administrative support to the Operations and Planning cell, with focus on the validation of the Individual Pre-Deployment Training course.
- Movements Control Support Officer (one vacancy): The MRTC Movement Control (MOVCON) Support Officer is to provide movements administrative support to deploying and currently deployed Army personnel.

**Person specification**:
We are looking for individuals who show initiative, can interact with personnel at all levels and can work independently, as well as part of a team. They should be able to demonstrate a good range of Microsoft Office skills (Microsoft Teams, Excel, Power Point, Word including Outlook & SharePoint) and have a good telephone manner as they will be liaising with internal and external agencies.

Essential skills:

- Be self-motivated, well organised and able to work well within a small team, whilst working collaboratively with the wider team.
- Have strong interpersonal skills.
- Have the ability to converse effectively with a range of people of all ranks both military personnel and other Civil Servants.
- Use sound judgement.
- Work quickly and concisely in order to meet demanding priorities.
- Have a sound understanding of Microsoft packages.
