Youth Justice Service Turnaround Engagement Worker

**We are recruiting a two year fixed term contract role to administer and coordinate the Turnaround Programme in line with the Ministry of Justice (Youth Justice Board) guidance and criteria.**
The successful applicant will assess, support and deliver intervention to children, young people and families across the borough to achieve positive outcomes.
To undertake direct work with children and their families within their school, local community and/or home setting in order to overcome barriers to learning and to improve outcomes in relation to:
- Early Intervention in line with Turnaround’s criteria.
- Achieve positive outcomes for children with the aim of preventing them going on to offend.
- Build on work already done other partners to ensure all children on the cusp of the youth justice system are consistently offered a needs assessment and the opportunity for support.
- Improve the socio-emotional, mental health and well-being of children.
- Improve the integration and partnership working between the Youth Justice Service and other statutory services to support children
- Reducing number of children offending, including first time entrants to the criminal justice system.
- Reducing exclusions from school (fixed term and permanent).
- Reducing the number of children Not in Employment, Education or Training.
- Reducing the number of children requiring a Child Protection Plan.
- Reducing the risk of children becoming Criminally Exploited.
- Reducing the numbers of children at risk of involvement in substance abuse
