Horizontal Borer

**Weekly Hours**:

- 7.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday**Salary/Annual Leave**:

- £15 to £16 an hour- 25 days plus Bank Holidays**Purpose of the Role/Role Overview**:
Required to set up and operate a horizontal boring machine, milling, drilling, and boring one-off or small batch quantities of steel fabrications or castings to very close tolerances.

**General Duties/Key Responsibilities**:

- Read and understand 1st and 3rd angle engineering drawings and have the ability to mark out/machine components from them.- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using relevant measuring instruments.- Use precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical and horizontal borers.- Where relevant, program/operate NC/CNC machines tools.- Properly and safely select, align, secure and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.- Recognise, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures and tooling.- Examine and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using appropriate tooling.- Perform daily and regular cleaning and maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.Please
