Jointers Mate

At Connect it we’re looking to build on our success by recruiting a Jointers Mate based in Cardiff.

As cable jointing mate, you’ll be relied on to support a qualified jointer in installing and commissioning power installations to their specific procedures on the LV upto 11kV and HV network. The ability to work on your own initiative, whilst following prescribed procedures is key but critically, working safely is a must.

This is an unrivalled opportunity to develop skills, build experience and gain relevant qualifications.

**Key skills**:

- Knowledge of mating for a DNO operator alongside a jointer completing a full range of jointing activities (LV & ideally HV), including linking and fusing.
- Be able to understand utility plans and ensure these are up to date.
- A high regard and competency for safe working.
- Ensure risk assessments are completed and correct PPE is worn.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- Have relevant experience.
- Hold full clean driving licence.
- Have experience of working outside in all weathers

**Additional**:

- With an eye for detail, you will be able to use a handheld smart device as a way of keeping detailed and accurate records of your work.
- Ideally hold first aid qualification and valid Street works card.
- You’ll be an organised team with a ‘can do’ attitude, delivering top quality communication skills as you deal with the public and external clients alike.

**Salary**: Up to £135.00 per day
