We are looking for someone who can combine their love of the outdoors with exceptional people skills to join our Exeter shop as a Senior Sales Assistant with the aspiration to move into an Assistant Manager role.

You will be active, friendly and love the outdoors coupled with good knowledge and experience of trekking, camping, climbing or any outdoor pursuit that gets you out the front door. The wider your experience the better.

We are an independent retailer that encourage all our staff to contribute with their ideas for new products, promotions and blogs. This is a great opportunity to learn and develop your own skills.

You must be outgoing, self-motivated, an excellent communicator and passionate about what we do and sell at Taunton Leisure.

Some retail experience is essential, but training will be given. You will also have good knowledge of current technologies in the outdoor industry while being given the opportunity to expand your knowledge with manufacturer led field trips.

As a Senior Sales Assistant you will hold extra responsibilities in dealing with warranties, returns and liaising with various brands to provide the best outcome for customer and company. As a key holder you will on occasion be responsible for opening and closing the store and managing the day to day feeding back to management and important information.

As well as dealing with customers on a face to face basis, there is a good level of digital skill required, so you must be computer savvy.

You will be part of a small, hard-working team, and you will be willing to pitch in with all jobs to ensure the smooth running of the business.

This role is ideal for any of those who want to gain management experience and progress into more senior roles.

**Responsibilities**:
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service

On occasion open and close store, process cash and receipts

Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards

Maintain a fully stocked store

Ascertain customers’ needs and wants

Recommend and display items that match customer needs

Welcome and greet customers

Manage point-of-sale processes

Actively involved in the receiving of new shipments

Keep up to date with product information

Accurately describe product features and benefits

Follow and enforce companies policies and procedures

**Skills**:
Proven working experience in retail sales

Previous track record in sales

Management experience (desirable)

Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices

Proficiency in English

Proficient in basic computer skills using MS excel and word

Solid communication and interpersonal skills

Customer service focus

Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality

Basic administration skills

**Salary**: Up to £11.00 per hour
