**Job Overview**:
The Web Content Editor works closely within our web publishing team to publish content across the UKRI site striving for the highest quality content. They work with colleagues across the organisation working within agreed service level agreements and web professional standards. This role would suit someone who has strong administrative experience or who is looking to advance a career in web editing. We would consider applicants with transferrable skills particularly if you have had involvement in proofreading content or have relevant qualifications. We are a small closely knit team who are responsible for managing a high volume of requests with competing priorities. Adaptability with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively will be crucial.

The role is hybrid. The team work remotely with a minimum of 1 day a week in our Swindon office. There may be a need to attend the office more frequently for induction and training or based on the needs of the business.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- As a web content editor, you’ll be part of the multidisciplinary web team working on the UKRI website service making it simpler and easier for people to understand and use.
- Review, edit and publish templated content to reflect house-style and web team best practice Publish funding opportunities on the single UKRI website.
- Review other content editors drafts in the content management system.
- Provide an on call publishing service, participating in an out of hours rota.
- Monitor site performance and highlight any issues to be resolved.
- Actively participate in daily stand ups to update on workload and share issues.
- Manage daily workload using tools including the web helpdesk and Asana.
- Reschedule work based on new or changing priorities, reacting quickly and efficiently to changing priorities and providing clear, positive communication.
- Ensure you operate within defined workflows and processes - and build collaborative working relationships across the team.
- Source images from Asset Bank and approved image libraries that are on brand and give guidance to colleagues.
- Use Site Improve on a rota basis to ensure broken links and typos are corrected.
- Work on archiving of content as scheduled by the web content editor manager as part of ongoing workload.

**Person Specification**:
Essential***
- Experience of editing or proofing written content
- English and Maths GCSE
- Excellent ability to work flexibly under pressure against competing priorities to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities including excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrable ability to form effective relationships and networks.

Desirable
- Experience of working in web publishing or editing

Applicants who are successful in being shortlisted will be invited to attend a one-hour interview held online via zoom. We’ll also ask you to attend a short editorial test which will also be hosted via zoom and should take between 45 minutes and an hour.
