Transport Planner

We are a long-standing family business with an opportunity for someone to join our expanding team in Banbury as a Transport Planner.

You will be involved in making sure freight is moved in the most efficient way around the Oxfordshire and Warwickshire area. You will need to consider schedules, costs, health and safety, vehicles sizes/weights and drivers hours along with supporting our drivers and providing excellent customer service.

Shift is Monday - Friday with weekly shift rotation.

Week 1: 05:00 - : 14:00

Week 2: 12:00 - 21:000

**Salary**: This will be negotiated in line with experience; however, salary will range from £29,000.00 - £33,000.00

**The Role**:

- Planning and managing dedicated local fleet with delivering and collecting palletised freight
- Ensuring the best use of resources in most cost-effective manner.
- Utilising our I.T. systems to information, tracking & planning
- Maintain high service level.
- Communicating with office, drivers and warehouse staff
- Communicating with customers
- 1 x Saturday morning per month which is paid extra.
- Have great communication skills
- Haulage/Logistics background
- Have good I.T. skills
- Have an excellent geographical knowledge of the UK
- Be reliable and a good time keeper
- Ability to work on your own and make decisions
- At least 2 years’ experience in transport environment would be beneficial.
- Work in a high paced office environment
