We currently have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Machine Shop Setter within our growing Machine Shop Team.

**In a nutshell you will be responsible for**:
Setting and operating CNC chucking lathes, vertical machining centres and horizontal machining centres and CNC Bar machining lathes with Mazatrol controls, conventional machines as and when required (Drills, capstan lathes, fly press etc).

**What you are already great at**:

- Setting and operating of CNC lathes, vertical machining centres and horizontal machining centres with Mazatrol controls, conventional machines as and when required (Drills, capstan lathes, fly press etc), ensuring cycle times and outputs are achieved to the correct quality standard, report failings.
- Completing detailed quality checks against dimensional drawings using measuring equipment, verniers, micrometres and gauges etc, Pass off 1st off approvals for production run and log and record all measurements on the relevant check sheets.1st off and last off must be put in 1st off/ last off cupboard.
- Programming transfers from and to the DNC computer system.
- Recognising, identify and report all quality defects and equipment failures.
- Ensuring all completed work is sent to the stores with any empty trays for that part, daily for booking in.
- Ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with any work instructions / procedures.
- Ensuring preventative maintenance schedules are completed as required.
- Maintaining good communications and relationships throughout the company.
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and make suggestions for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements.
- Maintaining a clean, safe working environment and good housekeeping standards and ensure 5S standards are maintained.

**For this role we would need you to demonstrate**:

- Experience and time served working in an engineering environment working on CNC machines, good tooling knowledge for latest technologies awareness,
- Mazak control system experience essential.
- Engineering qualification and or CNC qualification.
