Torbay's Electronics and Photonics Innovation Centre (EPIC) is at the heart of Torbay's growing hi-tech cluster and is pivotal to transforming Torbay's economy. It is home to a growing number of technology-based businesses that are tackling some of society’s key environmental challenges, whilst supplying global, internationally recognised companies.

EPIC is so much more than a Business Centre and therefore we are looking for an experienced Innovation Centre Manager or Sales and Marketing Manager to build on the success realised so far. You will have experience in maintaining high levels of tenant or customer satisfaction, as well as driving business collaboration that accelerates business growth.

Ideally, you will have experience in supporting businesses in a particular sector, able to identify their strategic needs and support their growth.

The success at EPIC has led to new government funding that will see the development of a new Technology Park located close by to EPIC. This will enable EPIC tenants to grow into this new business space. As the Electronics and Photonics Innovation Centre Director, you will play a key role in this new and exciting development.

**The salary includes an amount for a market supplement of £5789.00 per year. This market supplement is reviewed annually.**

**Interviews are expected to be conducted during the week commencing 8th April 2024.**

**Skills**:
Essential:

- Effective and demonstrable sales and marketing skills in order to drive a pipeline of tenant enquiries in order to maintain high levels of occupancy.
- Demonstrable skills in managing a large project ensuring outcomes are delivered.
- Managing a complex environment like an Innovation Centre or similar.
- Ability to learn, understand and communicate complex and technical information.
- To anticipate and react effectively to problems ranging from day to day operational issues through to strategic planning.

**As this post meets the requirements of the Immigration Act 2016 (part 7), the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.**

**Knowledge**:
Essential:

- Knowledge of attracting and securing new tenants.
- Project management techniques in order to develop and manage key projects effectively.
- Budget management and financial planning ensuring EPIC and the wider Technology Park remain financially viable.
- How to work effectively in a partnership with both technology-based businesses and key stakeholders.
- Knowledge of how to support and grow a business cluster.

**Experience & Qualifications**:
Essential:

- Sales and marketing relevant or transferable to managing an Innovation Centre.
- Effectively managing an Innovation Centre or similar.
- Working with small and medium sized businesses.
- Managing relationships with a wide range of businesses and stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience of problem solving.
