We are looking for a capable Level 1 Learning Support Assistant to work in our Nursery provision to cover an internal maternity leave.

The role will be to support children and colleagues within the Nursery and to implement the daily routine by supporting check in, learning activities through play and group work and being a proactive member of the team.

Responsibilities will involve;
- To contribute to the planning and implementation of appropriate programmes of activity for the children in collaboration with the Nursery Manager
- To have a full understanding of the Nursery systems of record keeping and keep records of the children’s development, using our online learning journey called Tapestry.
- To assist with the Breakfast Club routines each morning
- To assist in the provision of an attractive and stimulating range of equipment, activities and displays, indoors and out, relevant to the ages and needs of the children, which encourage
independence, self-motivation and eagerness to learn
- To assist in the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds and stages of development
- To be familiar with the National Minimum Standards and guidelines and recommendations of good practice and assist in their implementation
- To share the responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in the Nursery
- To liaise with parents and encourage their involvement in the aims of the Nursery and in all aspects of their child’s care

The vacancy is for 20 hours per week over five mornings, Mondays to Fridays from 07.45am to 11.45am. There is a possibility that this post may become full-time in January 2024 but will end when
the existing member of staff returns from maternity leave.
