**HR Advisor (Employment Strategy)**

Our Employment Strategy Team advise the Council’s managers on the development and improvement of its employment and reward framework and trade union relations. Our aim is to create a framework, guidance and employee relations environment which helps create the conditions for high employee engagement and high-performance.
The Employment Strategy Team’s responsibilities include:
- contributing to people and workforce plans including people strategy and service plan
- leading role in working with the Council’s trade unions
- development and maintenance of the Council’s pay and reward frameworks
- development implementation of the Council’s terms and conditions including local collective bargaining
- improvement and maintenance of employee benefits
- improvement of employment policy and guidance
- maintenance and development of employee pension schemes
- job evaluation and development of associated processes
Working within a small team, the HR Advisor may work across all of the above areas. The role will have a focus on job evaluation. Other activities include coordinating and contributing to the Council’s joint working, consultation and negotiation with the trade unions; contributing to local pay reviews; implementing national pay awards; contributing to the development and implementation of employment policy, terms and conditions and contracts of employment; contributing to the maintenance of the Council’s pension schemes.
This is an excellent opening for a HR professional looking to develop advanced skills, knowledge and experience in developmental and strategic people management. The work spans a variety of HR specialist functions, which provides a great opportunity for learning and development in the HR profession.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be highly self-motivated and have the potential to working proactively and autonomously. You will demonstrate the following:
- Relevant experience in Human Resources, ideally with relevant HR qualifications or working towards
- Knowledge of employment legislation, regulations and best practice
- Analytical, creativity and good collaborative skills
- Good communications skills - both oral and written
- Knowledge or experience of job evaluation is desirable
