Laboratory Assistant

**ADM Agriculture** operates from locations throughout England and offers a people-based quality service to farmers and consumers. As well as providing an integrated supply chain to ADM’s UK assets in milling and oil seed crushing, We supply a full range of non-grain feed ingredients to the feed and fuel markets, alongside a comprehensive range of seed and fertilisers.
Job Purpose
To be part of an effective team carrying out analysis on seeds and pulses at our dedicated Laboratory facility at Long Sutton.
Your Responsibilities
- To ensure Quality Control takes place throughout nightshift, in a timely manner, full training will be given.
- Ensure the Company laboratory testing service complies with the requirements of the current AIC TASCC Code of Practice for Testing of Combinable Crops.
- Liaising with all departments within the Company facilitating good communication and ensuring efficient processing of samples.
- Ensuring all equipment is well maintained and clean.
- To actively seek to improve efficiency.
- To assist with every day activities in the laboratory.
- To provide assistance with Health and Safety measures.
- To provide timely and excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders via verbal and electronic communications.

**Skills & Abilities**:

- To have knowledge of the products being tested is preferred but not essential and training will be provided.
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, efficient and willing to learn.
- To be able to operate equipment to carry out testing.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Good organisational skills being able to prioritise workload effectively.
- Good numeracy skills - Maths GCSE grade 4 and above (grade C equivalent)
- Ability to use Microsoft and bespoke IT systems.

**Working Hours**
19.30 - 05.00 including breaks totalling one hour.
Working Pattern
34 hours per week over 4 nights, working Monday to Thursday incl. from 1st November to 31st July
42.5 hours per week over 5 nights, working Monday to Friday incl. from 1st August to 31st October (harvest period)
