Reading, United Kingdom SSE Full time

SSE has big ambitions to be a leading energy company in a low carbon world. Following our commitment to invest £18 billion in low carbon projects to 2027, we have significant growth plans and are well on our way to achieving our ambition to build a world that's more sustainable and inclusive for you, your family, the community you live in and for generations to come. We are proud to be playing a critical role in the net zero transition, as we aim to more than treble the net capacity in operation to 13GW and grow renewable energy output five-fold to over 50TWh over the next 10 years.

**About the Role**

**Base Location**: We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. Ideally based from Reading or Glasgow office with occasional travel to other SSE sites

**Salary**: Up to £61,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing

**Working Pattern**: Permanent | Full Time

**About the Role**:
The core purpose of the role is driving the setup, coordination and management of Primavera P6 project plans with a focus on deliverables, milestone and interface management, as well as assisting cost, commercial and resource management with other disciplines.

This is a varied role working on projects across Renewable Sectors of differing size and complexity, and at different stages of a project lifecycle, from early development through to construction and completion. You will work closely with the Project Managers and Project Teams to ensure delivery of successful projects.

The role also requires the flexibility to support the development and operational delivery of the wider PMO/Business Planning services. This could include the development of planning standards, processes, governance, and reporting needed to set projects up for success as our business grows at pace.

**Key accountabilities will include**:

- Developing and maintaining a range project plans using Primavera P6. This will include planning the full programme/project lifecycle (development through to construction and commissioning), dependency management, ensuring alignment with PMO standards and processes, and ongoing critical path analysis.
- Support the quantification of risk and issue impacts on project schedules, agreeing mitigating actions, and tracking progress and delivery of those actions.
- Maintaining a clear view of the project baseline and tracking progress against it, as well as monitoring milestones, resources, budget loading and profiling. Coordination of inputs and progress updates across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Actively driving the development of plans, including close working with project teams, and interacting with the wider SSE teams, sub-contractors and external partners or clients to ensure plans are coherent, practicable, realistic, and up to date.
- Actively supporting project collaborative planning and recovery planning exercises. Identifying the critical path for the project and work packages to ensure potential delays to critical activities are identified and mitigated.
- Support the assessment and implementation of change into project schedules, working with our internal project teams and our Contractors to agree the impact of change on our project plans.

**To be considered for this role, we would love you to have**:

- Demonstrable experience in planning using Primavera P6. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Demonstrable competence in working collaboratively to develop plans from conception through to construction and completion.
- Working Project Planning experience, ideally having worked within large, multi-contract Engineering and Construction projects (electricity, water, oil/gas, rail, highways, major buildings etc.), including building fully integrated complex activity networks.
- Ability to assist Project Management decision making by providing clear analysis of the impacts of schedule delays. Provide mitigation strategies to remove or reduce the impact of project delay and change.
