Project Surveyor

A Housing Association based in Kent is currently recruiting for a Project Surveyor to join their Team as soon as possible.

The purpose of the role is to ensure contracts and works are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner to agreed quality standards, value for money, statutory and regulatory legislation, health & safety compliance, ensuring high levels of resident satisfaction.

**Responsibilities**:

- To ensure all investment activities are carried out in accordance with the organisation's standards, health and safety and legislative requirements.
- To ensure that work is carried out with consideration for grant funding and the requirement of match funding and that value for money is achieved, by monitoring and reporting on contractual Key Performance Indicators.
- To undertake day to day contract management of planned investment projects including taking corrective action where necessary and report regularly on the progress of individual schemes. Undertake the role of lead officer and follow the Southern Housing contract management framework. Meeting external contractors on a minimum monthly basis to monitor performance.
- To monitor against budgets/targets and keep accurate records of projected cash flows, programme and on-site progress, including a record of any variations, snagging and health and safety records, liaising closely over associated works and where related to other team functions in order to avoid programme clashes.
- Collect completion data and documentation for the Retrofit Planning & Governance team for monthly reporting to Government department.
- Prepare and collate tenant, property, and service charge data in preparation for Section 20 notices and respond to observations.
- To liaise with the contractor's Customer Support Representatives and internal RLO to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Work with the Clerk of Works to manage compliance of work against specification and obtain handovers, to include regular site visits and post hand over defects.
- Agree final accounts for projects and reconcile final costs against agreed allocated budgets.
- Accurately update Orchard, the asset management system and other departments as required on the progress of all jobs. Accurately record and acknowledge all customer contacts, complaint details, actions, and learning points on CRM/CD.
- Undertake a range of property surveys including technical appraisals of properties, property defect analysis and diagnostic surveys. Preparing specification and schedule of works for tender.
- To provide advice to other staff, both technical and non-technical, on construction and building related matters. This is to include desktop reviews of drawings and specifications for new developments to advise Property Soft Landings team members of issues to be resolved.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £35 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
