Insole Maker

Due to expansion Medfac UK Ltd t/a Halo Medical are looking for an Insole Maker at our Orthopaedic Footwear factory in Wellingborough.

If you have a background working in the footwear industry and you are interested in making unique custom made footwear, then we have the job for you

Working with a highly skilled team of technicians in our modern factory, you will work alongside our Orthotists to produce Bespoke Orthopaedic Footwear by hand and machine in the traditional way. Each pair of shoes are unique and designed to the customers requirement.

Our hours of work are 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am - 12.30pm Friday.

The applicant will benefit from an understanding of Orthopaedic footwear terminology with previous experience a positive advantage.

The making of a last model to represent the inside structure of footwear to a specific measurement.

This will involve:

- Working with hand tools /measuring devices
- Working on roughing machines /band saws /pillar drills/heating equipment
- Working from a negative plaster cast or a draft measurement

Materials involved
- Leather /E.V.A / P.V.C / Rubber / cork / Plaster of Paris

The applicant should have
- Good hand eye coordination
- Be able to work with a mature manner

**Health and Safety**

Health and safety procedures must be followed at all times. Care must be taken when using cutting blades and hand tools. All tools and machinery must be checked before use to ensure they are safe to use. Appropriate PPE must be worn at all times.
