**Gardener/Maintenance Foreman (Full or Part time)**

**The Estate**

**The Role**

Duties will involve grounds maintenance including mowing and hedge cutting, and plant care including weeding, watering, pruning and propagation. Further duties will periodically include some forestry and tree planting work, fencing and general maintenance. The varied and interesting role offers the opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work in attractive surroundings, in a small supportive team and with regular liaison with the estate owning family.

**The Individual**

The successful applicant will:

- Preferably have horticultural experience
- PA1 and PA6 would be an advantage
- Be able to operate a range of routine garden machinery including ride safely and effectively on mowers, hedge cutters, strimmer’s, and leaf blowers
- Be flexible and adaptable to the range of duties required and be able to work independently and with initiative.
- Property maintenance skills would be advantageous
- Be able to integrate into an existing busy team, reporting to colleagues and the estate owners
- Have a full clean driving licence and own transport
- Applications from individuals who may lack experience but are enthusiastic about a career in horticulture and willing to learn will be considered

**The Package**
- £11.00 - £12.00 per hour, plus a pension
- Starting as soon as possible
- Daily working hours are 8 am to 4 pm (part time or full time)
- Holiday entitlement is 25 days annually plus bank holidays (pro rata’d if part time)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship

**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour

- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Rye: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
