We are recruiting someone to join our team as a Recruitment Advisor, working to support to two specialist regional units: Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) and the South East Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU). In delivering this fundamental discipline for the units, we play a key role in protecting the communities of the South East from the threats of serious organised crime and terrorism.

In this role you will work into the Regional Recruitment Lead, and together you will oversee and coordinate all recruitment activity for the regional units including all police officer, staff and temporary posts). You will take steps to continually improve our processes, ensuring they remain inclusive, compliant and efficient, and you will also be the first point of contact for complex recruitment queries.

The office base location is difficult to access via public transport therefore we are ideally seeking somebody that holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a vehicle.

**Responsibilities**
- Act as the first point of contact for resolution of complex recruitment queries, within relevant policies and complex resourcing arrangements as part of the regional collaboration for CTPSE and SEROCU. This includes acting as the first point of contact for resolution of recruitment complaints, escalating where appropriate.
- Maintain awareness of best practice and changing guidance and legislation in relation to recruitment practices, acting as a specialist for CTPSE and SEROCU ensuring regional practices continually improve, are inclusive and in line with force and/or regional policies. Ensure adherence to GDPR and data retention policies.
- Work with managers in the scoping and design of roles, ensuring that succession planning and forecasting activity is undertaken. Guide managers through the job evaluation process and manage queries related to reward, escalating where required.
- Prepare statistical information relating to recruitment and resourcing, e.g. diversity, volumes, adherence with SLAs, etc. identifying themes and trends where possible. Ensure effective management of employee data in people management systems and records. Develop and maintain an accurate flow of information between HR and areas of the business and with force HR teams where required.
- Work with colleagues to support and develop solutions to specific challenges and to drive the people strategy, including the Regional Diversity and Inclusion strategy. Undertake specific projects related to recruitment, which will require involving research, analysis, report writing, attending meetings and organising events.
- Advise managers through the whole recruitment process, providing coaching and training in relation to regional processes where required and supporting interview boards as an independent panel member.
- Work with the broader team, coaching and managing the work of HR Support to enable delivery of recruitment activity. Support generalist HR activity on an ad hoc basis where required.

The role holder will deal with a range of recruitment matters on a daily basis including planned work and general advice. They will be required to build good working relationships with line managers, police officers and police staff members at all levels of the organisation, and stakeholders across the five South East regional forces.

The role holder will provide a service to the collaborative regional unit, requiring the building and maintaining of relationships with counterparts within force HR teams to enable a good exchange of information and to enable smooth delivery of processes. For instance, liaise with HR and Workforce Planning teams to submit business cases in support of regional demands to negotiate transfer arrangements.

The role holder will be required to be sensitive to the specific arrangements for CTPSE and SEROCU in relation to security and confidentiality, recognising the nature of the work carried out by the unit and some of the schemes, policies and practices that are distinct from Local Police Areas.

Essential
- Proven experience of working in a busy and demanding recruitment role, with knowledge and experience of all aspects of general recruitment and on-boarding activity.
- Part qualified (or equivalent) or working towards a Level 5 CIPD Qualification (or similar relevant professional accreditation), with proven participation and interest in continued professional development.
- IT literate to an intermediate level in the MS Office package, with a proven ability to collect, analyse and produce statistical information to enable the exploration of people-related trends and the identification of underlying causes.
