Two new additional posts have been created in the Interim and Supported Accommodation Team.

Bristol recognises that it has a housing crisis, and the Housing Options Service is assisting high number of homeless households, many will require emergency accommodation.

Your role will be to daily to source and match households who need accommodation on the day to available units of emergency accommodation.

You will be joining two experienced Emergency Accommodation administrators who will mentor and support you as you grow into the role.

The work is fast paced with a sense of urgency as the tasks in hand need to be completed that day. This can make it challenging as you will be balancing several demands at once. This means you will have to be organised and able to prioritise accordingly. However, the reward at the end of the day is knowing you have sourced accommodation for those who need it.

Communication is key and primary skill in the role, to engage and negotiate with a wide range of partners, a small landlord, a large supported housing provider and of course internal City Council colleagues. The role requires empathy and understanding of the causes and the impacts homelessness can have on any client or household.

The team is small and has a strong an welcoming culture, if you have strong team working skills; this role with its fast pace and diverse tasks will be for you.
