Machine Operator Landfill

**Site Operative / Machine Operator**

**Bower, Caithness**

**Temporary**

**£11.96 per hour**

**Monday 7.30am-4.00pm & Tuesday to Friday 8.00am-4.00pm**

Our public sector client is looking for Machine Operator based at Seater Landfill Site, Bower on a temporary basis starting immediately until 9th July 2023 with an option to extend. This a full time post working Monday
- Friday with an hourly rate of £11.96. This is a heavy duty role and you will be required to work out doors in all weathers therefore we are ideally looking for people who enjoy working outdoors. Safety boots are required for this position and not provided by the client however you will be supplied with all other necessary PPE.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:

- The loading of dry recyclable materials
- The compacting of Waste on the Landfill Site
- Upkeep and tidiness of site area
- And any other duties under the instruction of the WMO and Foreperson including litter picking in accordance with SEPA regulations

**Skills/Experience Required**:

- 360 excavators, Teleporter and loading shovel Tickets (Training will be provided if required)
- A complete understanding of all legal responsibilities that come with any Machine licence
- Proven ability to work within a team environment and proven ability to take the initiative within that environment
- Ability to perform minor machine maintenance within the legal framework and company policy
- Ability to communicate and trouble shoot machine issues to the client workshop and Forepersons in a precise manner
- Proven awareness of Health and Safety in a dangerous environment
