An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Ear, Nose and Throat Department for a Nursing Support Administrator to join our team to support our senior nursing team in the ENT outpatient department. The post is an essential part of reducing the administrative burden on our team leaders and enabling them to spend more time with staff and patients, delivering excellent patient care.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable. You will also be able to prioritise workloads, use your own initiative and respond to queries within and outside the organisation with a professional manner to patients, relatives and staff at all levels.

Person specification

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
- RSA III word processing or equivalent experience
- 5 GCSE's or equivalent, C or above, must include English
- Computer literate to ECDL standard or equivalent

Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
- Proven typing and admin experience
- Experience in using Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Demonstrates an understanding of patient/client confidentiality

Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in the NHS

Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria
- Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information verbally gathered from both verbal and documented reports
- Maintain confidentiality in communication with patients/colleagues

Analytical and Judgement skills

Essential criteria
- Able to use judgement to make decisions in order to solve problems/enquiries
- Able to complete tasks using own initiative

Planning and Organisational Skills

Essential criteria
- Experience working within prescribed deadlines
- Ability to plan and organise own time

**Salary**: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
