**Assistant Dog Trainer/Handy Person**
1-day a week position - Wednesdays (with the possibility of extra days).
This position would suit someone who has a love of dogs and also someone that has DIY experience and enjoys a challenge.
The job would suit someone ex-military or semi-retired who enjoys working around dogs. It's also a great opportunity to learn and assist me as a trainer and as an experienced behaviourist as some of the dogs can be quite challenging, but is a very rewarding role.
We are rural so transport is essential for this position.

**The Role**:
- Helping with the socalising of dogs from puppies to adults.
- Helping with general maintenance.
- Working closely with myself training dogs.
- This work can be physically challenging.
- Helping with customised basic training programs and if required by owner and agreed with dog behaviourist.
- Monitoring dogs during assigned play time.
- Make sure that sleep / rest times are observed and dogs/puppies have appropriate rest times.
- Ensure safety in the area where the dogs play.
- Prevent any accidents.
- Report any accidents or injuries in the Accident Book.
- Update a daily report on the dog/puppy.
**Must have**:
- A love of dogs.
- A good down to earth / can-do attitude.
- Have a good sense of humour.
- Be observant, alert and patient.
- Good communication skills.

**Salary**: £9.50-£11.50 per hour
Expected hours: 8 per week
