Trainee Associate Psychological Practitioner - 37.5 hours per week. Band 4 whilst training with progression to Band 5 post qualification.

We are recruiting a Trainee Associate Psychological Practitioner (TAPPs), due to start in March 2023. TAPPs will be employed across the Physical Health and Rehabilitation Psychology.

You will be employed at a band 4 level, work in clinical settings, under the supervision of a qualified psychological professional and engage in University study 1 day a week, based at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). Some University days will require attendance, whilst other days will be delivered remotely and study days may not require attendance at a specific site. You will be working towards completing a funded Postgraduate Certificate Associate Practitioner Psychology (PGCert APP). Upon completion of the clinical role and academic requirements (1 year), you will then qualify as a band 5 Associate Psychological Practitioner (APP).

The post holder will work within the Physical Health Psychology service, which has more than 90 staff working across the whole of Cumbria. The team and service provide psychological care to patients with physical health problems, including long term conditions (LTCs) including:

- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Diabetes
- Cardiac Issues
- Cancer

The service also works collaboratively with related services, which provide psychological/rehabilitative services for neuropsychological issues (including stroke) chronic fatigue (CFS) medically unexplained symptoms (MUS), palliative care and paediatric diabetes.

To undertake specialised psychological assessments, treatments and other types of clinical intervention with individual clients, carers, families and groups of clients; staff training; research and development activity.
