ASEND are looking for a tutor with Early Years experience to support a young child with Autism living in Hackney. Our pupils have a huge range of individual needs and abilities, and we work very hard to match the right SEN Tutors with the child who can mostbenefit from their skills and expertise. For this particular role we welcome people who are happy to deliver learning through play and exploration, and who have worked with preverbal or nonverbal children. There will be a focus on nurturing and developingthe child's understanding of their surroundings and communication skills. What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for inspirational tutors in London to support children and young people with SEND. Many children with SEND have been disengaged with their learning. We support pupils that have struggled to stay in the classroom, who feel too anxious to goto school or whose needs aren’t sufficiently supported at school. We tutor children face to face in a range of settings including homes, schools, and community centres. You may be an experienced tutor or teacher or have experience of working with childrenin a therapeutic way. One of your aims will be to support a child at home and re-engage them in their learning, continue their educational development and return to school. ASEND tuition is replacing school for these young people and is normally part-time,taking place during school hours, five days a week.
- have some experience with SEN; such as Speech and Language needs, Attachment Difficulties, Selective Mutism, Autism, ADHD, or Social Emotional and Mental Health needs
- be passionate about helping pupils overcome any barriers to learning and difficulties with engagement
- be able to build a rapport and strong relationship with children and their families
- ideally, have some experience of helping children with their learning
- have the ability to motivate and inspire pupils
- use a person-centred approach in their work
- make the wellbeing, achievement, and progress of your pupils central to everything that they plan and do
- have the determination and energy to bring about continuous improvement in mental health and confidence.
