We are looking for a two Health Improvement Specialists to join our Public Health team within Brighton & Hove City Council. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the delivery of whole school health and wellbeing in schools in the City. You will be a member of the Public Health Team located at Brighton and Hove City Council supporting the local implementation of the Public Health Schools Programme which promotes health and wellbeing for children, young people, families and schools and colleges in the City.

There are two full time (37 hours) contracts available one permanent and one fixed term until 31 July 2025

As a Health Improvement Specialist, you will:

- work in partnership with colleagues in teams including the Council’s Personal Social Health and Economic Advisory Team, the Healthy Lifestyles team, School Nurses, and commissioned providers in partner organisations.
- develop and deliver interventions activities and events to promote the health and wellbeing of the school community.
- support schools in accessing initiatives for the promotion of health and wellbeing including support for staff wellbeing.
- develop and provide training to school pastoral staff to raise awareness of pupils’ health and wellbeing issues.

You will be someone who is:

- experienced in working with children and young people from diverse backgrounds.
- able to communicate with a diverse range of people in an inclusive and accessible way.
- experienced in promoting health and wellbeing.
- able to manage a range of work tasks and develop projects on your own initiative.

**Additional information**:
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
