European Road Freight

**Cargo Logistics** is an independent freight forwarder specialising in ambient and refrigerated European Road Freight services. Established in 1994, Cargo provides expert solutions for a wide client base through a team of dedicated specialists.

**The role**

We are recruiting for a Road Freight Operator to join our team to manage the process of importing and exporting goods across Europe. Although experience is desired, we can provide training and support for those who are looking to join the industry. You must be willing to learn, have the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and showcase the skills to efficiently organise and manage the transit process from collection to delivery.

**A day in the role**

A typical day will involve you checking on any active jobs you have moving. You will monitor that all is on track with your shipments, ensuring that load points and drivers have the correct information. You will understand where each shipment is within its transit and managed the delivery process with site and driver. You will work with a range of hauliers to help manage your tasks and ensure that you are keeping a flowing communication with all parties involved. Additional tasks will include processing new booking on our freight management system and ensuring an accurate record of all paperwork associated to each job. You will be required to oversee the customs processes on many jobs, working with our in-house customs team and selected agents to ensure all goods are cleared for transport.

**Job duties**

Working on key accounts, managing the day-to-day road freight process from start to finish for Imports and Exports.
- Communicating and building relationships with customers, hauliers (domestic and European), other agents.
- Managing all types of shipments, full loads, part load and groupage.
- Planning loads for major and minor routes, import and export throughout Europe and further, including but not limited to Italy, Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal, Holland and Germany.
- Liaising with clients to ensure all required information and paperwork has been received and complete for the shipments.
- Ensure accurate administrative records.

- Strong computer skills across the Microsoft portfolio and ability to use freight management software.

**Package**
- Starting Salary dependent on experience.
- 28 days holiday rising to 33 through years of service (inclusive of public holidays).
