Teaching Assistant apprenticeship OASIS COMMUNITY LEARNING - Oasis Academy Boulton

We are seeking to appoint highly motivated people to join our school, working with students in mainstream lessons supporting them to access lessons and achieve their full potential. The ability to be flexible, as well as to build good working relationships with students and staff is a key requirement.

What will the apprentice be doing?
- Raise standards of achievement for all pupils
- Encourage pupils to become more independent learners
- Provide support for their emotional, social, and physical welfare
- Support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of school life
- Work under the direction of the line manager, class teachers, and other staff to support the learning of whole classes, selected groups or individuals as instructed
- Study relevant qualifications while you earn
- Supervising class activities
- Assisting with young people’s learning experience
- Helping students who might need extra support
- Attending relevant academy meetings as required
- Respecting confidentiality at all times
- Participating in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager
- Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with academy policies and help keep pupils on task
- Interact with and support pupils, according to individual needs and skills
- To support learning by arranging/providing resources for lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher
- Demonstrate a positive commitment to equality and diversity

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Teaching Assistant level 3
- Functional skills in English and maths if required

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Full time role considered on completion of the apprenticeship
