Model Execution Lead - Wholesale Credit & Lending

Wholesale Credit & Lending (WCL) is an important contributor to the Group: it supports 80% of the revenues generated by Wholesale banking and forms a key part of the Group-wide transformation. In 2020 we announced the formation of a WCL Transformation & Delivery organisation, bringing together credit and lending-related transformation programmes across Commercial Banking, Global Banking, Risk Transformation and Digital Business Services. Model Management and Delivery (MM&D) is a core component of WCL, responsible for the management of the models across GB and CMB business lines (including the redevelopment / repair of capital models aligned to prescribed PRA deadlines) in addition to defining and building out a more robust and embedded model management capability within the FLOD.
The Model Execution Lead, reports into the Head of Model Management & Delivery and leads the implementation of the models post regulatory approval, ensuring technical implementation is completed, training and communications embedded and benefits realised. The role holder will be responsible for the overall implementation runway post regulatory approval, supported by key contributors from Risk Transformation, Finance and the lines of Business, and will work closely with the GRA development teams and WCL delivery.
This role is based in London on a hybrid working basis.
Your main duties/responsibilities will include:

- Drive and influence the plans, milestones, RAG status and progress tracking for the model implementation and business rollout.
- Be responsible for all reporting of the model business rollout, including formal governance and communication across business and risk sponsors.
- Manage and control key dependencies, including identification, capture and agreement with external programme teams.
- Ensure accurate reporting and change control of the implementation runway as appropriate.
- Proactively identify, capture and monitor risks and issues to ensure issues are resolved promptly and that risks are managed with mitigating actions agreed and tracked
- Interlock across internal and external teams and programmes, including Finance, Transformation and IT, to track deliverables, support issue resolution and manage cost.
- Drive appropriate business engagement, including UAT, training and communication, with the support of Risk and Business Change and Implementation teams.
- Understand model benefits from a regulatory and business standpoint, and work with Risk and the lines of business to ensure benefit realisation

Understand the data flows required for RWA calculations as part of the model implementation
- This will be required to work with Risk, Wholesale Business and Finance teams.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

- Experience of leading projects and programmes and delivering through teams directly and indirectly across local and remote environments
- Proven experience in execution of projects or programmes across lines of business, including Risk and COO
- Good understanding of data flows required for RWA calculations within Wholesale business as this role requires engagement with Risk, Wholesale Business and Finance teams among other delivery partners

Experience operating in complex, technical and multi-threaded programmes
- Evidence of managing and satisfying multiple stakeholders and perspectives in a fluid and changing environment
- Broad understanding of credit models and associated regulatory landscape desirable
- Initiates intervening action to resolve high priority issues affecting a programme
- Collaborates with stakeholders to extract strategic information to present it in a compelling way to management
- Relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills
- Ability to leverage resources available to achieve WCL and business / function goals
- Ability to make critical decisions and strategically prioritise based on WCL and business / function goals
- Collaborative end to end leadership style which enables interdependent outcomes and works across boundaries in an Agile and connected manner
- Strategic Programme Management across different business, function and products within HSBC
