**“You know nothing about me Why should I trust you?”**
Initially young people may feel like you know nothing about them and don’t understand them. They may not want to talk to you, they certainly do not want to learn. So, what do you do?
Our students can display challenging behaviour and often have a range of complex needs. This means they are currently not in any form of education. Do you have what it takes to support and engage our students and give them hope for a future?
**About the role**
- Working with a student on a 1:1 basis, either in their home or a suitable venue arranged and risk assessed by the company.
- Planning and delivering education-based or life skills sessions, tailored to the student’s needs and interests.
- Delivering 2-5 sessions per week, each session lasting between 3-5 hours. Sessions will take place between 9am - 4pm, Monday to Friday (days and times will be arranged with you before placement starts).
**The students**
- They are vulnerable and the majority have various SEN and/or SEMH needs.
- Difficulty with emotional regulation, which can result in challenging behaviours.
- Their needs make it difficult for them to access mainstream school and therefore they may have been out of education for some time.
- Students referred to us range from 5 - 25 years old. You will be matched to students based on your specialisms and expertise.
**The benefits**
- Competitive hourly rate plus additional pay for planning and reporting.
- Subsidised travel costs, plus £15 per day for resources.
- CPD and training opportunities.
- Free wellbeing and counselling service.
**What you need to apply**
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience working with vulnerable children or young people with SEN, barriers to learning (e.g. challenging behaviours) and/or those with negative experiences impacting their mental health (e.g. trauma, SEMH needs).
- Experience delivering Numeracy and Literacy at secondary levels.
- Consistent availability to commit to a minimum of 2 sessions per week (2 working days).
- A commitment to keeping children and young people safe, as well as a practical and up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding.
If unsure as to whether you have the necessary experience, please give us a call on **020 3409 6410 (option 7)** and we can answer any questions you may have.
- Due to the nature of the work and our commitment to safer recruitment, you will undergo a thorough background check and will require an enhanced DBS and the Right to Work and remain in the UK. You're required to fully disclose spent, unspent and protected convictions, cautions, reprimands and warnings._
