Finance Clerk

Part of the Finance team.

Primary role - to maintain Purchase Ledger, showing all invoices and payments, deal with company finance Purchase to Pay process; process supplier invoicing, queries and payments; VAT and associated reporting; process employee expense claims and petty cash requests when required; H&S for cars, insurance and IP admin.

In addition, flexible backup for other roles in the Finance team as required.

**Qualifications**:
Desirable but not essential: Relevant experience in an accounting/admin environment; basic book-keeping skills and knowledge of VAT procedures.

Main Duties
- Sort and distribute the Finance department post
- Process invoices/credit notes, accurately allocating to the correct GRNI’s, cost centres and supplier/customer codes
- Process Purchase Ledger invoices, queries and payments
- Ensure new accounts setup for bank details are processed
- Filing and archiving
- Reconcile supplier statements
- Book out query invoices, resolve queries and force pass them, ensuring correct authority
- Ad hoc reporting
- Monthly, bimonthly and quarterly UK and Irish VAT reconciliation and online submissions
- CIS reporting
- Keeping Driving at Work requirements up to date
- Keeping IP spreadsheet spend up to date
- Keeping insurance admin and related work up to date
- Ad hoc duties such as providing back up to Cashier as required, including:

- Process and pay advances and expense claims
- Process payment requests by completing cheques/bank transfers and obtaining correct authorisation, updating cash book and reconciling
- Process monthly payroll and ancillary items
- To be aware of and follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures including feeding back any H&S information to management
- Be aware of and demonstrate the company values and behaviours
- Good level of computer literacy essential, with accurate data-inputting
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with both internal and external customers at all levels
- High level of attention to detail
- Ability to work under own initiative to deal with problems/queries promptly, accurately and professionally
- Awareness of the need to maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal and/or commercial information
- Familiarity with working under pressure and meeting deadlines
- Pleasant, friendly disposition - willingness to work as part of a team
