**Cook Job Description**

As a cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food in our cafe setting. Your responsibilities will include:
**Food Preparation**: Prepare ingredients for cooking according to cafe recipes and standards. This may involve chopping vegetables, marinating meats, or preparing sauces.

**Cooking**: Cook a variety of dishes, including breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts, ensuring that they are cooked properly and presented attractively.

**Menu Development**: Collaborate with the chef or manager to develop new menu items or adjust existing recipes to meet customer preferences and dietary requirements.

**Food Safety and Sanitation**: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure that food is handled and stored safely. This includes maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and following proper hygiene practices.

**Ordering and Inventory Management**: Assist in monitoring inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, and notify management when items need to be reordered. This may involve placing orders with suppliers and receiving deliveries.

**Customer Service**: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking their orders, answering questions about menu items, and accommodating special requests or dietary restrictions.

**Teamwork**: Work closely with other kitchen staff members, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.

**Flexibility**: Be willing to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of the cafe and its customers.

**Cleaning and Maintenance**: Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.

**Compliance**: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, as well as any other applicable laws or regulations governing food service establishments.

**Communication**: Excellent communication skills.

**Job Types**: Temporary contract, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 6 months

**Salary**: £7.49-£10.42 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to Relocate:

- Lochearnhead, FK19 8NX: Relocate before starting work (required)
