**Role and responsibilities**:

- Work with pupils as directed, specifically including those with special educational needs.
- To follow safeguarding procedures and ensure the well-being of all children.
- Establishing good relationships with pupils encouraging them to interact with others and engage in activities whilst being aware of individual needs.
- Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff and provide feedback by annotating children’s work and verbally to the teacher.
- Support pupils in using basic ICT.
- Support pupils to understand instructions, support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils; promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
- Supporting the teacher in managing pupil behavior, reporting difficulties/ progress / achievements as appropriate.
- Support pupils with social and emotional well-being, reporting to the teacher as appropriate.
- Prepare and clear up learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils work and contribute to maintaining a safe environment.
- Use online systems to record information - behavior/ safeguarding/ accidents.

**Required Skills**:

- Interest in being a trained first aider
- Interest in lunchtime supervision
- Good IT Skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work towards tight timescales
- Able to work as part of a team, as well as individually
- Able to deal with children/parents sensitively and keep information confidential
