**Job overview**:
The post holders will be required to undertake training to develop competence to complete a variety of occupational therapy and physiotherapy assessments and treatments as well as completing administration tasks. The post holder will be key to enabling patient flow through exercise progression and discharge planning within a wider multi-disciplinary team.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate an ability to work with patients with a wide range of conditions and have experience in the therapy treatment of this patient group. Along with good clinical and interpersonal skills applicants should be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
You will join our proactive team of therapists who provide a therapy service within this teaching trust. We are committed to continued professional and career development of all staff.
Applicants must be prepared to participate in our 7 day working service. This is a part time post and working hours can be discussed.
**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
Are you looking for a challenge? We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Band 3 generic therapy support workers to work across the acute hospital ward therapy teams. These is a permanent posts based on Trauma and Orthopaedic wards at Good Hope Hospital. The caseload will include pre
- and post-operative elective joint replacement patients, day case surgery e.g. ACL reconstruction, arthroscopies and minor trauma patients as well as repatriated Trauma patients.
The post holders will work alongside the established therapy teams within the acute setting. Applicants need to have relevant therapy, health or social care experience as well as having experience dealing with people working within a team.
A Band 3 generic therapy support worker will be expected to undertake a number of duties with supervision from a registered physiotherapist or occupational therapist and be responsible for an agreed specific caseload.
The post holder will complete a mixture of clinical and administrative tasks

**Essential**:
Education to GCSE level or equivalent including English and maths
Able to demonstrate competence in maths and written and spoken English
Educated to A Level / NVQ 3/ BTEC or equivalent (e.g NVQ 2 or similar vocational qualification PLUS experience working in a care setting)
Care certificate or be willing to work towards this
**Experience**:

Relevant therapy / health / social care experience
Experience of dealing with people
Experience of working in a team
Can demonstrate a broad understanding of relevant areas of therapy, the effect of illness/critical conditions / disability on function and health and basic aims of rehabilitation
Good understanding of the role of therapy support worker in the relevant area
Understanding of confidentiality and data protection in healthcare
