Neonatal Team Leader

WHH are seeking a Band 7 Neonatal team leader to help lead and manage our 14 cot Neonatal unit.
We are looking to recruit a highly skilled and motivated Neonatal nurse, who has recent hospital experience in nursing infants who have special care, high dependency and intensive care needs. If you are confident in the assessment, treatment and management of babies, providing family integrated care and can support a nursing team through effective leadership and management skills then we want to hear from you

You will act as a role model for the nursing team across the Neonatal services, promoting a positive attitude and motivating staff members to deliver compassionate care whilst developing themselves professionally.
You will join an established senior nursing team who will support you to develop professionally. You will work collaboratively with them to manage the neonatal service on a day to day basis. This role requires you to utilise your expertise and critical thinking skills to ensure performance and standards are monitored and continuously maintained.
Operational management duties include maintaining a safe, clean environment, monitoring and improving ward and departmental performance, clinical governance and supporting staff wellbeing through training and providing pastoral care. The post holder is professionally accountable for the standards of clinical care delivered within their unit, they will undertake and supervise clinical practice, audit, research and participate in teaching.

Role Summary
To function as a senior practitioner on the Neonatal unit using expert knowledge and skills to achieve the optimum outcome for the neonate and family in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
To be responsible for co-ordinating, supervising and supporting neonatal staff in the clinical areas in the delivery of individualised care to the neonate in partnership with the family.
To be responsible for supervising and mentoring members of the team.
To be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the shift.
To be responsible for providing professional leadership within the team.
To be designated to take charge of the ward/department regularly, in the absence of the Neonatal unit manager.
To be responsible for supervising and managing a named group of staff within the establishment.
To be responsible for an area of quality improvement.
