**Reablement Officer(2)**:
Job description

Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

Are you a confident leader? Why not join LCC and play a key role in keeping the residents of Leicester City safe, healthy and happy. We’re currently recruiting for an organised Reablement Officer to join the Reablement Service.

The Reablement Service are a small dedicated team, whose main goal is to enrich the lives of those returning home from hospital to ensure they maintain their independence and healthy living in a safe manner within the comfort of their own home.

As a Reablement Officer you’ll join a team of 80, including Front line staff, Reablement Assistants, Officers, Coordinators and Administrative Employees.

This position is a full time, permanent where you'll be based at the Neville Centre on Leicester General Hospital site. The hours for this role will be based on a flexible rota working mornings and evenings 7 days a week, this includes weekend, bank holidays and other public holidays.

**What you’ll be doing**

As a Reablement Officer your most integral task is supervising the Reablement Assistants comprising of approximately 10 people. These are a mixture of temporary and external resources who support people on their Reablement/ICRS journey to independent living; develop risk assessments and reablement plans and support the ICRS Service with its swift response to critical social care cases. For this you’ll utilise a range of HR tools to achieve effective people and performance management.

More specifically, you’ll visit individuals that have been referred onto the service and undertake a comprehensive risk assessment to ensure a safe working environment for both staff and individuals in need of the service. In addition, you’ll complete personalised Reablement/ICRS plan for the person using the service which is then cascaded down through you to the Reablement Assistant to follow through with ensuring independence and safety is given to the individual within their own home.

This role also involves identifying and arranging low level equipment, such as assistive technology and telecare devices through a Trusted Assessors assessment. Other evidence-based research will involve things like presenting key findings from each visit at the daily multi-disciplinary team meeting in order to help establish a discharge date and refer on to therapy staff where appropriate.

**What you’ll need**

You'll showcase a knowledge of health and safety legislation with enough confidence to operate the concept of personalisation understanding the benefits this can have within integrated care and need to be disciplined with yourself and others, have excellent organisation skills in order to prioritise your workload and be able to work under pressure in a busy and often difficult job role.

For this post, you’ll have great interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively to a wide range of people from varied and diverse backgrounds, ethnicities, and educations in both verbal and written contexts. As a confident person you’ll be able to match your approach to the needs of each individual as they are encountered with a flexible and no-nonsense approach.

What we can offer you

As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You’ll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working. We’ll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including discounts on city buses and trains.
