**The Estate**

Bolton Abbey Estate, the Yorkshire home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, comprises 28,000 acres including let farms, moorland and woodland. There are also a significant number of houses, cottages and commercial properties, many of which are listed, including the ancient ruins of the 12th century Bolton Priory upon which the Estate is focussed. In addition to the let estate, the estate has in hand sporting, tourism and retail interests.

**The Role**

To assist the Estate Manager with the overall general management of the Estate in accordance with the Trustees’ policies and by overseeing and directing the operations, activities and enterprises undertaken on the Estate. Although expected to report to the Estate Manager, the deputy may be required from time to time to consult with or report to the Estate Director, the Devonshire Group “executive board”, the Chief Executive or the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and / or other members of their family.

**The Contractual Term**

Initially as a two year fixed term contract.

**The Remuneration**

Full terms will be outlined to those applicants offered an interview but will include a competitive salary, membership of a contributory pension scheme and a car allowance.
