**Delivery Driver (Community Equipment Services)**

**Location: Nottingham**

**Hours: 37.5 hours per week. (8 hour shifts between 8am-8pm including half hour unpaid break)**

**Contract type: Permanent**

**Salary: £28,727 per annum based on 37.5 hours per week (includes allowance of £1500 per annum for on-call rota)**

**Full UK manual driving licence held for minimum of two years is essential.**

Within our Community Equipment Services, the team carry out work that enables people to live independently in their own homes.

In this role of Delivery Driver, you will be delivering equipment like beds, riser recliners, walking frames, commodes, bathing equipment to people who need them. (Full training is provided to ensure you are confident assembling and delivering equipment to people's homes). This will have such a positive impact on families lives at a time when they could be dealing with emotional stress as well as physical situations. This is not a typical driving / delivery job, you will be really making a difference to people when they are at their most vulnerable. Some service users may be near end of life and the comfort that can be brought from having necessary equipment at home is invaluable.

You will work either as a lone driver or part of a two-man team, doing between 15 and 30 drops per day. You will also collect equipment which is no longer required, perhaps due to loss within families so a compassionate but resilient nature would be perfect.

**No two days will be exactly the same but w**hat does a typical day in the life of a Delivery Driver look like?**
- Collecting equipment from the warehouse, planning your route and scanning all items onto the van.
- Carrying out daily van checks and recording them.
- Completing your round of deliveries and collections.
- Dropping collections back off at the refurbishment/cleaning department, and returning unsuccessful deliveries to the warehouse.
- Carrying out end of day van checks.

**What will you need to be a successful Delivery Driver?**
- To be a confident and safe driver with good knowledge of Nottingham and surrounding area.
- Good DIY skills and physically able to lift and carry loads (within the Health and Safety Manual Handling criteria).
- To be able to organise and prioritise your own workload.
- To be a people person, the ability to work as part of a team whilst supporting members of the public.

Shifts are on a two week rolling rota, working alternate weekends with a set day off midweek. Monday to Friday shifts are 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm or 12noon-8pm, Saturday & Sunday 8am-4pm. There is an on-call rota which requires you to cover out of hours every 12 days. **For your part of the on-call rota, you will be rewarded with an allowance of £1500 per annum (£125 per month).**
- Within BRC, this role will be known as Driver Technician.
