Halton Borough Council Fostering Team is seeking to appoint a Practice Lead for our Mockingbird Programme.

**What is Mockingbird?**

The Mockingbird Programme is lead by The Fostering Network in the UK and delivers sustainable fostering care. This exciting programme is currently working with over 60 Fostering services across England, Scotland and Wales and is looking to grow even further

Mockingbird is an evidence-based model structured around the support and the relationships that an extended family provides.

It is one of a number of innovative programmes that The Fostering Network runs to improve foster care and outcomes for fostered young people.

**About You**

We are looking for an experienced practitioner to join our team who will be instrumental in the development and implementation of the Mockingbird Programme as we look to develop our first hub.

You will take responsibility for the overall management of a small cohort of staff within the team with emphasis on practice issues, to ensure the delivery of high quality service, according to the philosophy, targets and objectives for the service.

As a Practice Lead you will be given the opportunity to develop your own skills, knowledge and experience as a Practice Lead as well as developing training courses and learning opportunities for carers and professionals.

**Key Skills**
- DipSW/CQSW or equivalent and evidence of progression.
- Registration with the HCPC.
- Experience of working with and supporting foster carers
- Involvement in the supervision of staff or student resource
- Understanding of supervisory requirements
- Knowledge of Child Development and Child Protection.
- Effective communication skills with children, young people and their families.
