**Job Description - Personal Assistant**

I am an elderly lady in Innerleithen, with visual impairment, who requires some assistance at home. I

would like to remain as independent as possible but need support to do so. It is important to ensure

I am safe, assist me with personal care, prepare and heat meals and provide guidance with my

medication.
- Will have excellent standards of care.
- Will be reliable and adaptable.
- Trustworthy, honest and confidential at all times.
- Punctual and well organised.
- Cheerful and motivated.
- Someone who will maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

**Tasks may include**
- Assist with washing and dressing.
- Preparing meals (no cooking, just re-heating home cooked meals).
- Domestic duties, to include emptying bins, emptying of commodes, and use of the

dishwasher.
- Medication guidance, due to sight limitations.
- Online shopping assistance in order to maintain a nutritious, well-balanced diet.
- Guidance, if and when we leave the house for leisure/exercise.
- Any other tasks that I may require to ensure my independence, safety and wellbeing.

**Hours of work**
- Hours of work are:

- Saturday - 9am till 12/1pm***
- Relief cover for holidays and absence of other carers.

**The terms**
- Rate of pay is £12.02 per hour***
- Mileage is paid at a rate of 40p per mile, if the car is used as part of your duties e.g. GP or

hospital visits, shopping etc.***
- 5.6 weeks annual leave on a pro-rata basis.*
