Lecturer in Arabic

We are seeking to appoint a **Lecturer in Arabic (Education and Scholarship) **to contribute to teaching, scholarship and administration in the Department of Language Studies (Modern Languages).
General teaching expectations include:
- Contributing to teaching and module convening on Arabic language modules on the Modern Language electives and pathways
- Contributing to teaching and module convening on the new MA in Translation Studies.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Post-graduate supervision.
- Contributing to the research profile of Language Studies and Linguistics.
- Undertaking administrative responsibilities.
The postholder will work closely with colleagues in Modern Languages. You will be expected to convene, plan, teach and mark/moderate assessments in Arabic. There are also opportunities to teach in other areas in the School of Media, Arts and Humanities. This role requires excellent organization, communication and team-working skills.
We are seeking someone who holds an MA, doctorate or other equivalent postgraduate qualification, and who will have excellent working knowledge of Higher Education in the UK, including experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
