We are looking for an exceptional, hardworking, and motivated individual to join our Plant Department as a Plant & Vehicle Fitter working on our fleet of machines and tools. You will be required to carry out maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs to a wide range of construction plant and LGV equipment.

Rate of pay negotiable depending on experience.

Responsibilities include:

- Operate & inspect plant or equipment to diagnose defects.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs.
- Undertake planned and reactive maintenance.
- Inspect, Repair & replace damaged or worn parts as required.
- Test plant or equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance.
- Carry out pre-hire and 12 monthly through examinations on plant.
- Servicing company vehicles in a cost-effective manner.
- Liaising with suppliers to achieve value for money on parts.
- Maintain part stock levels ensuring we have equipment to cater for emergency breakdowns.
- Work with Transport to ensure vehicles are maintained, serviced & inspected as & when required.
- Advising when plant is no longer fit for purpose or safe.

To be successful within this role you will have:

- Qualification as plant mechanic/fitter or similar experience
- Proven experience working with a range of plant equipment, machines, and hydraulic equipment.
- Confident in the diagnosis of electrical and hydraulic systems
- Good time management, organisation skills and be able to work to deadlines
- Ability to prioritise own workload and manage expectations
- Ability to weld would be an advantage
- Attention to detail
- Proactive approach
- Full UK licence

**Salary**: From £17,000.00 per year
