We are a passionate, friendly and dynamic governing body supporting two fantastic schools in leafy Hampton (TW12) to ‘be the best they can be’ and are recruiting for a clerk to join the team.
You might have previous experience as a clerk, governance professional or as an administrator or PA supporting a board of trustees, directors or legal professionals.
Alternatively, you might be someone who is passionate about education, has strong administration skills and is looking for a role that fits around family and caring responsibilities.
**Time commitment**: 195 hours over the academic year, term time only (approximately 5 hours per week). Flexible hours, including 10-12 governance meetings per year.
**Salary**: Approx £4,300 per annum (Scale SO1 NJC 24 - NJC 25: FTE = £36,045 - £36,567)
**Responsibilities include**:
- Organising, administrating and attending governor meetings, including preparing agendas, taking accurate minutes and distributing relevant documents and papers to governors in a timely manner;
- Supporting the board to effectively fulfil its core duties and functions; and ensuring that it adheres to procedural requirements;
- Overseeing and supporting the membership of the governance body, including the recruitment and induction of new governors; the fulfilment of governor training requirements and maintaining a record of member’s interests and other statutory requirements.
**Requirements**:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work, and manage your time
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- IT Proficient (Google and / or MS Office) and record-keeping.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Familiarity with school governance procedures (desirable but not essential).
