Head of Pastoral/Safeguarding Role

1. **Ensuring Students' Welfare**: Making sure that the welfare needs of students are met, which involves providing support on both individual and group levels.

9. **Resource Management**: Ensuring that the behavior support center is stocked with appropriate resources for all students.

10. **Strategic Planning**: Working with the Principal to develop and deliver the school's development plan and Self-Evaluation Form (SEF) within the College's framework.

12. **Quality Assurance**: Leading, managing, and monitoring the quality of student welfare and development support to ensure effectiveness and impact on standards.

13. **Staff Training**: Identifying and responding to the training and development needs of staff regarding student welfare and development.

14. **Student Tracking and Intervention**: Implementing the College's strategy for student tracking and intervention related to welfare and development support.

15. **Review and Evaluation**: Reviewing and evaluating the quality of support offered to students.

16. **Team Management**: Managing, supporting, and monitoring the work of a team (both College-based and external agencies) to ensure effective support for students.

17. **Assessment and Reporting**: Contributing to the College's processes for assessment recording and reporting.

18. **Mentorship and Progress Review**: Working closely with the College's leadership team to monitor the quality of every student's one-to-one mentorship, coaching, and progress review experience.

19. **Community Engagement**: Liaising with parents/carers, external agencies, and the wider community to maximize support and resources available to students.

6. **Referrals to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)**: Making referrals to the Disclosure and Barring Service if a member of staff is dismissed or resigns in circumstances where there has been actual harm or risk of harm to a child.

7. **Referrals to Police**: Making referrals to the police where a crime may have been committed involving a child, ensuring that appropriate authorities are notified and involved in addressing the situation.

8. **Undertaking Early Help Assessments**: Conducting early help assessments for identified pupils and their families, and acting as the lead professional where appropriate, to provide timely support and intervention.
