**Responsibilities**:

- **Vehicle Assessment**: Conduct thorough assessments of damaged vehicles to determine the extent of the damage and the necessary repairs.
- **Panel Repair and Replacement**: Repair or replace damaged body panels using various tools and equipment, such as welding machines, grinders, and hydraulic presses.
- **Frame Straightening**: Straighten and align the vehicle's frame to ensure it meets factory specifications and is structurally sound.
- **Welding**: Perform welding tasks to join metal parts and ensure proper structural integrity.
- **Paint Preparation**: Prepare the repaired surfaces for painting by cleaning, priming, and masking areas not to be painted.
- **Detailing**: Finalize repairs by detailing and polishing the vehicle to restore its original appearance.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect the completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations.
- **Documentation**: Keep detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and labor hours for billing and reference purposes.
- **Customer Interaction**: Communicate with customers to explain the extent of damage, the repair process, and provide estimates for both time and cost.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Maintain and clean tools and equipment regularly to ensure their proper functioning and longevity.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in using various tools and equipment for welding, cutting, and shaping metal.
- **Attention to Detail**: Precision and meticulousness in repairing and finishing surfaces to meet high-quality standards.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to analyze and solve complex problems related to vehicle damage.
- **Physical Stamina**: Endurance for the physically demanding nature of the job, involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- **Communication**: Effective communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
- **Teamwork**: Collaboration with other team members, including painters, estimators, and other technicians.
- **Knowledge of Automotive Systems**: Understanding of vehicle anatomy, construction, and mechanical systems.
- **Safety Awareness**: Adherence to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.

**Education and Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a vocational or technical training program in auto body repair.
- Practical experience as an apprentice or entry-level technician in a body shop.

OVERTIME AVAILABLE - RATE FOR OT IS TIME AND A QUARTER

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
