Senior Storeperson

**Job Title: Senior Storesperson**

**Location: Portland, Dorset**

**Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum**

**Responsible for**:
Being part of the UK Wastewater Services team carrying out duties to assist a team of engineers with a range of tasks in the engineering yard as instructed by your supervisor/engineers on site.

**Competence**:
This opportunity would suit somebody with practical skills, who likes being part of a hardworking team, has good interpersonal & communication abilities plus has numeracy and literacy skills.

**Physical & Other Requirements**:

- Previous stores/warehouse experience essential.
- May hold a current valid driving licence.
- Able to work outside on sites which are connected with wastewater (sewage).
- Able to carry out work tasks that involve physical strength, stamina, standing, kneeling or crouching.

**Competence and Qualifications**:

- Good general level of education including maths and English.

**Skills & Attributes**:

- Knowledge/Interest in engineering and how things work
- IT literate - good computer skills
- Good communication skills and customer service skills
- A desire to work on industrial equipment/engineering equipment
- Evidence of being a hard worker (i.e. from work experience, part-time jobs or from school activities)
- Able to communicate effectively to company management and staff.
- To work as part of a team and to co-operate with other staff
- Conduct all the work activities in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the company.

**Key Duties**:

- Manual handling work, lifting
- Tidying the yard
- Washing down machines
- Washing company vans
- Organising materials/plant
- Looking after stores
- Assisting with machine repairs as and when required.
- To work as part of a team and to co-operate with other staff / trades.
