The post holder will be a part of the Cyber Security Team assisting in the monitoring, reviewing, analysing and interpreting alerts and incidents reported or as generated by the Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) system or as reported by staff or partner NHS organisations.

Assisting in co-ordinating and participation in the technical resolution of any alerts and incidents, which may involve multiple colleagues across separate teams will be the responsibility of the post holder.

Opportunities created by the Cyber Security Team for the post holder to carry out work and produce outcomes which the post holder will select and present as evidences from their portfolio from work carried out towards their Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist Apprentice qualification, this will enable the post holder develop cyber security skills and experience in:
Cyber security assessments of customer infrastructure,

Security testing of networks using industry standard software tools,

Providing guidance on the secure configuration of network devices and operating systems,

Developing security requirements that support the design of secure networks, and products,

Undertaking security research on systems and software,

Audit of the effectiveness of an organisation's security controls.
